My parents grandparents immigrated from Russia and Germany, none of the thirty of so people had blonde hair.

Historically, there is a big difference between Russian and Russian Jew. Jews were not included in Russian society. They tended to have small all-Jewish villages that were in constant danger of attack from the larger society. Most contact with the larger Russian society was anything but pleasant (pograms). Male Russian Jews were required to serve 20 years in the Russian army (with the exception of the eldest son who had to carry on the family farm and care for aging parents). They rarely survived that 20 years (by design) and it helped keep the Jewish population down by removing most of the young adult males.

I would not expect a great deal of Russian accessories or clothing. Russian Jews were basically an entirely separate society within Russia.

Historically, the most common combination for a Russian Jew of that period would be brown hair (dark) and brown eyes. Auburn, black, lighter brown and red hair would all be more common than blond. Curly hair was also very common. Gray or hazel eyes are possible, but Russian Jews tended to be more closely tied to the Middle East than the larger Russian society so they tended to be a bit darker in coloring.

I'm not saying AG has to go with the most common combination, but historically speaking blond would not be at all representative of Russian Jews. Actually, a Russian Jew could look a lot like Ruthie which may be one reason AG would take some liberties.

I would be surprised if the next LE was Asian-since Jess was 1/2 Asian. I would love her to be-that's my first choice if I had one-but it would seem strange for them to do 2 Asian heritages in a row. [img]frown.gif[/img]

Still waiting for Madge, our little '80s doll that was discontinued before she came out. I'm so obsessed with the 80s now, and I'll probably make Madge sometime in the future. Still NO idea how to make the rainbow hair extensions, LOL.

Maybe the next LE doll will be named Julie and from the 80's since AG is celebrating their 20th year. I grew up in the 70's/80's and Julie was a very popular name. That's my two cents on the subject!

I think I agree with the whole LE from the 80's because of the 20 year anniversary. That would be cool if they did! [img]smile.gif[/img]

Perhaps our new LE will be a raging sports fan, perhaps of- lets say... The Green Bay Packers! She could live in Brown county and attend the games with her large fanatic family. Her meet outfit could be a jersey and cheesehead hat and her assesories could include a helmet, trading cards, Junior Power Pack membership card, autographed team poster, and a jump here sign. She could have short, soft curls that just peek out from under her ball cap and a few freckles. Yep, that's what our new LE <s>could</s> (SHOULD) be!
